"it's a hula world" Tiki Mug, designed and sculpted by Thor
Outrigger Boy - #2 of a 2 mug series
Inspired by our love of Polynesia, lots of aloha, and one of our favorite attractions, we had been wanting to make a series of mugs. The "Hula Girl" was the first of a this two mug series, and now we introduce the counterpart, and 2nd mug in the "it's a hula world" series, "Outrigger Boy".
Outrigger Boy is what we consider an 'oversized mug'. While the volume, for your favorite libation, of this mug is nearly identical to that of it's counterpart Hula Girl, this is a large sculptural piece, with both the head of the boat/outrigger and the boy himself rising far above the drink opening of the mug. Essentially, when it comes to size, this is like 2-1/2 mugs in 1. This fella holds 20oz, is about 10.75 inches long, 8 inches tall, 4 inches wide, and is quite heavy at over 3.5 pounds!
While we've included the Hula Girl for reference in the photos, mostly so that you can see them ,and each of their color-ways, together, please notice that the Hula Girl is set back a bit and therefore looks smaller than if both mugs were side by side. The Girl and the Boy have been sculpted at the same scale, and are a great matching set!

- Mug photos show the mug in outdoor natural light which shows the most accurate colors of the glaze. No filters, or editing has been used on the photos of the mug besides cropping and lighting mentioned.

- Note about import production: These mugs are being produced with one of our tried and tested production partners, the same that produced Hula Girl and others. All mugs will have passed through multiple rounds of quality control before being shipped out.
- These are ceramic mugs.
- Each mug is hand made. Each mug is hand cast, hand cleaned up seam lines, then individually hand glazed! As a result, each mug will be unique and have variations in glaze, color, cleanup, etc.
- Only the Outrigger Boy mug is included. The Hula Girl is just shown for size reference.
- Hand wash only!

Sometimes we have mugs that don’t pass our final quality control process for various reasons. These mugs aren’t considered “firsts” or even “whoopsies”. Many of them we do not feel are appropriate for use with beverages. Instead of destroying these mugs, we've decided to sell them in AS-IS condition and for Decor Use Only for a low price so that some people may still get enjoyment from them.
These mugs could be used on a shelf for display, used to make a lamp, used as a pot, some other DIY project, or even to hold things such as barware, swizzles, straws, pens, etc!
Again, for those of you familiar with our "Whoopsies" program, these are not considered the same. These mugs are not exchangeable. Mugs will be guaranteed to arrive without structural cracks/in one piece, but these could have superficial glaze cracks or chips, missing/incorrect glaze, as well as other issues (aesthetic or other). These will be clearly distinguishable from legit first quality mugs and Whoopsies because they will have a hole drilled in the bottom, so they will not hold liquid. We must do this to make sure they are never used for beverages, and that they are clearly distinguishable if resold.
