Pirate at the Helm is a continuation of Thor’s pirate tiki mug series, and comes with a custom tiki cocktail recipe crafted by Kelly Merrell.
This ceramic tiki mug is was designed by Thor, sculpted by Thor, and was one of our first two mugs, in it's original glaze, that has been manufactured in-house at TikiLand Trading Co. by the same team that previously made mugs released by Thor Arts!
'Golden Hour' Limited Edition
The Pirate at the Helm has returned but in the darkness of night. This edition features deep rich color with hints of a golden or bronze metallic shimmer. We're making these to order, up to 150 total. 100 have already been sold, so this is the last 50.
Ahoy! This glaze looks vastly different in different lighting. In the darkness of a tiki bar it has a deep rich color with a subtle metallic look when light hits it, but in the sunlight it’s golden tones are highlighted. We did our best to show the range of what this mug will look like in person, but please be aware it may not look exactly like the photos. This one was a real challenge to photograph!
Each of these mugs are unique in how light or dark the gold is, some much lighter, and some much darker - this is a feature of the glaze.

- Each mug is hand made. Each mug is hand cast, hand cleaned up seam lines, then individually hand glazed! As a result, each mug will be unique and have small variations in glaze, color, cleanup, etc.

Sometimes we have mugs that don’t pass our final quality control process for various reasons. These mugs aren’t considered “firsts” or even “whoopsies”. Many of them we do not feel are appropriate for use with beverages. Instead of destroying these mugs, we've decided to sell them in AS-IS condition and for Decor Use Only for a low price so that some people may still get enjoyment from them.
These mugs could be used on a shelf for display, used to make a lamp, used as a pot, some other DIY project, or even to hold things such as barware, swizzles, straws, pens, etc!
Again, for those of you familiar with our "Whoopsies" program, these are not considered the same. These mugs are not exchangeable. Mugs will be guaranteed to arrive without structural cracks/in one piece, but these could have superficial glaze cracks or chips, as well as other issues. These will be clearly distinguishable from legit first quality mugs and Whoopsies because they will have a whole drilled in the bottom, so they will not hold liquid.
