Gateway to Tiki
With a love for the Enchanted Tiki Room, Hawaii, Tiki, and all things at the intersect of art in popular culture and advertising, Lost Tiki envisioned and designed this mug with the help of his friend Tom “THOR” Thordarson.
This mug is a direct follow-up and companion to our 2022 TikiLand Mug Society mystery mug, “Journey to Hawaii”. “Journey to Hawaii” was inspired the United Air Lines “HAWAII” campaign, and this mug is transitional in the story - moving from United Airlines, to the crossover of United Airlines’ sponsorship of the Enchanted Tiki Room when it first opened in 1963 until 1975.
Lost Tiki’s inspiration for each of the mugs created for TikiLand Mug Society is to tell part of his, and many other’s, story and journey of “falling down the Tiki rabbit hole”. This is the 3rd mug in the ongoing TikiLand Mug Society series.
A custom drink recipe created by Kelly Merrell is included.

About this Tiki Mug:
- Mug photos show the mug in indoor light using lighting that emulates outdoor light. No filters or editing has been used on these photos besides cropping.
- Mug size: This mug is approximately 12.5 inches tall.
- Designed by Lost Tiki and Thor in sunny southern California. Imported.
- These are ceramic mugs.
- Each mug is hand made. Each mug is hand cast, hand cleaned up seam lines, then individually hand glazed! As a result, each mug will be unique and have variations in glaze, color, cleanup, etc.
- Hand wash only!
